I train and coach all of my team members most straight out of school. I also retail lash aftercare products as well as at home facial care products. My facial products are all plant based products as well. We provided a luxury atmosphere for all our clients. |
What inspired you to start your business? | Prior to starting my business, I had been in a retail management career all the way up to corporate management for 26 years. I always had a calling to want to do my own thing, but for many years was unsure of how to correlate my love for fashion and beauty into something that wasn’t a written order clothing concept. I’ve always been a girly girl with hair nails lashes make up and one day it just dawned on me that I could be a Lash artist. I genuinely enjoy making people feel beautiful and special. And was so glad that I was able to transition my love for fashion and beauty into something even more special and genuine to my touch. |
What problem does your business solve? | I’m not really sure I understand the question of a problem that my business solves, however, I can tell you in my area. I have been able to provide clients with a safe calming luxury atmosphere to receive their beauty services from where they feel confident in my skill and professionalism. |
What daily habits contribute to your success? | Consistently marketing, Not only on social media, but within the community. Always networking, Ensuring my clients are pre-booked out two months in advance, as well as talking up our Referral discounts to keep the word-of-mouth Marketing. Personally, every morning, I listen to a positive mindset podcast geared towards business owners. I’m a true believer and what you put into your mind first thing in the day is how your day will continue on. So only upbeat, positive music. My night prior everything is prepped and ready to go for my morning so there’s no stressors in the morning, And I always show up to the salon 30 to 45 minutes prior to the first client to get my mindset and prepped for the day. |
How do you stay motivated during tough times? | This is a wonderful question. In this industry, especially in our current times as a business owner, you are consistently having to pivot. You’re consistently having to research and pay attention to what the clients are wanting from a beauty standpoint as trends change quickly, and you need to be ahead of the game and prepared. Also with a shift of the economy, what are clients willing to give up and what are they not willing to give up and ensuring that you are staying relevant in this industry that drive alone is what keeps me motivated. Knowing that I wanna be 3 to 6 months ahead of the industry trends is what keeps me focused and motivated. So I’m never behind and then trying to play catch-up. So that means continual research to trends through social media, as well as my connection with my clients and what they are trending and asking for. Also, my team keeps me motivated because not only in my responsible for myself personally as well as my business. I’m also responsible for keeping my girls booked and busy so they can have a comfortable lifestyle as well. |
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received as an entrepreneur? | Coming from someone who struggles with change, I was once told that change is inevitable for expansion and growth. That you cannot excel, exceed and climb if you don’t make continual changes. That alone made a huge impact, and I have to remind myself of that statement daily weekly monthly & yearly. when I’m trying to figure out why we’re not making momentum and it’s usually because I’m not making a change. So that’s when I have to remind myself change is imperative to growth and success. And just get out there Girl and do it! |
What does success mean to you? | Success means to me, That I’ve made of IMPACT and someone’s life. Even the smallest IMPACT is a success for me. My goal is always been to empower people to share my knowledge to share my strength to share my story so others know that they can do it too. To know that I impacted even just one person in my lifetime and a positive way to help them create a happy life for themselves to me. That alone is success.. |
