Tell us a little bit about yourself. And briefly talk about your services or what you sell: Hey there! Thank you so much for having me—I’m beyond excited to be part of the Girl Boss series! My name is Genamarie, aka the “Luxury Picnic Lady”, and I’m the founder of Picturesque Luxury Picnics, where I turn everyday moments into Pinterest-worthy celebrations.

Based in the Poconos, PA, and serving the tri-state area (PA, NJ, NYC), Picturesque Luxury Picnics is the first award-winning luxury picnic experience in the region. Whether it’s a bachelorette party, proposal, birthday, graduation, or just a “because we deserve it” kind of day, I design one-of-a-kind, elevated picnics that make celebrating effortless and unforgettable.

But the magic doesn’t stop there! I also create stunning tablescapes for holidays, birthdays, and intimate dinner parties, plus romantic room setups for proposals, anniversaries, and Valentine’s Day. Basically, if you want a vibe—I'm your girl!

When I’m not busy styling dreamy events, you can find me traveling, trying new brunch spots, practicing yoga and kickboxing (to balance out the brunch), and listening to true crime or mindset podcasts (because why not have range?!). Oh, and I’m always planning my next vacation.
What inspired you to start your business? PLP came to life during the pandemic when people were craving ways to celebrate special moments safely—and still make them feel special! With traditional venues off the table, picnics became a go-to choice for marking those celebrations. I had lived on the West Coast for a while, where luxury picnics were already gaining popularity, and when I moved back to Northeast Pennsylvania in 2021, I saw the perfect opportunity to bring this unique concept to the area—and be the first to do it!
What problem does your business solve? Many people want to celebrate special moments—whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, proposal, or corporate gathering—but don’t have the time, resources, or creative vision to bring their dream setup to life. That’s where we come in. Picturesque Luxury Picnics solves this problem and provides a unique, high-end alternative to traditional events on a silver platter.

We don’t just remove the stress from event planning—we kick the boring out of your celebrations too!
What daily habits contribute to your success? Success in business isn’t just about big moves—it’s about the small, consistent habits that build momentum over time. I personally like to use to-do lists and time blocks to organize myself. Some of the daily habits include:

1. Morning Routine – I start each day with a morning routine that prioritizes movement, mental clarity and energy building. After that, I can get my day in order! Having this structure keeps me focused and productive.

2. Continuous Learning – I dedicate time to learning—whether it’s researching business strategies, improving my interpersonal skills, or studying a new language!

3. Networking & Relationship Building – Both in business and in my personal life! Whether it’s attending local business events, connecting with family, or grabbing a coffee with friends, I make a point to nurture relationships that help me grow.
How do you stay motivated during tough times? What keeps me motivated during tough times is my long-term vision for Picturesque Luxury Picnics. While challenges are a part of any journey, I stay focused on the bigger picture. I’m building my business with the vision of creating a life filled with freedom—freedom to grow a family, explore the world, and continue creating businesses that bring joy, connection, and empowerment to others.

I also remind myself that setbacks are part of growth. Instead of seeing them as failures, I view them as lessons that help me evolve. And of course, leaning on a supportive network of family, friends, and fellow entrepreneurs helps me keep going, even when things feel overwhelming. Every challenge is just another step closer to the lifestyle I’m building, and that’s what keeps me going.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received as an entrepreneur? One of the best pieces of advice I’ve received as an entrepreneur is: “Done is better than perfect.”

As a business owner, it’s easy to get caught up in wanting everything to be flawless before launching a new idea, service, or piece of content. But perfection can lead to procrastination, and in business, taking action is what truly moves the needle. I’ve learned that it’s better to put something out there, test it, and refine it along the way rather than waiting for the ‘perfect’ moment!
What does success mean to you? To me, success isn’t just about making money or having a fully booked schedule—it’s about building a life and business that align with my passions and values. Success means having the freedom to create, the ability to bring joy to others through my work, and the flexibility to design my own path!

It’s also about impact. Knowing that Picturesque Luxury Picnics helps people celebrate life’s special moments in a beautiful and effortless way is incredibly fulfilling. Success is seeing the excitement in my guests' eyes when they walk into a stunning setup I’ve curated just for them.

On a personal level, success also means continuous growth—challenging myself, learning new skills, and becoming the best version of myself. It’s about balancing ambition with well-being, so I can enjoy the journey just as much as the destination.

At the end of the day, success is creating a life I love while making a meaningful impact on others.
