Hello! I'm Lily, born and raised in Southern California. Growing up, I’ve always loved clothing so I learned how to sew from a young age. My younger self’s dream was to go to fashion school and start my own clothing line, but I ended up going to business school instead (no regrets). Fast forward to now, I’m finally pursuing my dreams and creating a clothing brand for my fellow pet parents. My business, LUU Lounge, offers pet hair-resistant loungewear made with our patent pending, Furoff Fabric™ designed to let you easily wipe off fur with your hand. |
| What inspired you to start your business? | My fur babies are the inspiration behind my business. I have two retriever mixes and they shed all over me. I love my dogs, but what I don’t love is having their fur stuck to my clothes. When I’m about to leave my house and I notice there’s fur on me, it’s either I have to beat myself down with a lint roller or just completely change my outfit. I was tired of constantly battling pet hair and knew that I wasn’t the only one with this problem. That’s what sparked the idea for my pet hair-resistant loungewear brand, LUU Lounge. As I developed this product inspired by my fur babies, I thought about how the world would be a better place if we gave ourselves the same unconditional love we have for our pets. We talk to them kindly, forgive them without hesitation, and see them as worthy of love no matter what. But what if we treated ourselves the same way? When you speak to yourself with that same compassion, you create space for growth, healing, and confidence. And when you take the time to show up for yourself, you’re better equipped to show up for others. LUU isn’t just about clothing—it’s a reminder for you to “Love Urself Unconditionally.” |
| What problem does your business solve? | My business solves the problem of pet hair sticking to clothing. Having pet hair clinging to you can make it difficult to feel clean and put together when you leave the house. Many pet parents struggle with having to lint roll or change outfits again before they leave. Some even avoid wearing certain colors because their pet’s fur is easily visible. LUU Lounge offers a solution by creating versatile, pet hair resistant loungewear. You can easily pat off the fur with your hand, and then head out without having to worry about having to lint roll or change clothes. |
| What daily habits contribute to your success? | On a personal level, taking care of myself is a daily act of self love so I make sure to incorporate daily, non-negotiable habits for my mental and physical health. In my daily routine, I start the day with yoga and I end my day with journaling. On the business side, I make sure to spend time every day working on my business. Even if it’s only for an hour, it creates the momentum for me to keep going. Slow progress is still progress and every step you take gets you closer to where you want to be. |
| How do you stay motivated during tough times? | My loungewear sets have been an absolute game changer in my life and I know it’ll be a game changer for others too. I know my business is going to help a lot of people in the world so I remind myself that what I’m working on is much bigger than myself. My dream is to create products that make a positive difference in people’s everyday lives and that is what I call my “why.” |
| What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received as an entrepreneur? | “Let go of your attachment to the outcome.” For years, I let the “what ifs” stop me and hold me back from even trying to pursue my dreams. “What if it doesn’t work out?” “What if I fail?” On the other side though… “What if it does work out?” “What if it works out better than you could ever imagine?” No matter what the outcome is, you’ll never know if you don’t try. And even if it doesn’t work out as you hoped, at least you did the thing. |
| What does success mean to you? | To me, success is being able to create products that make a meaningful and positive difference in people’s lives. At the core, my business was created to solve problems and provide value. Our mission is simple: to offer pet hair-resistant clothing that helps you feel clean and confident while serving as a gentle reminder of self-love. With LUU Lounge - I not only want to help solve the problem of pet hair sticking to clothing, I also want to inspire a mindset that self-love is the foundation for a happier, more connected life. LUU is more than just a name, it’s my message for you to “Love Urself Unconditionally” because you deserve it. |
